Spotlight on Business - Business Before Hours

The Freedom Museum, located in the main terminal of the Manassas Regional Airport, will host the next Business Before Hours on Thursday, June 29th from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. This exciting networking event will offer tours of the facility, door prizes, surprises, and music.

 

OTHER UPCOMING EVENTS AT THE FREEDOM MUSEUM:

On July 4th, at the POW Reunion, the display "They Returned With Honor" will honor Vietnam Veterans through photographs and narratives. On August 11-13, the "Festival of Freedom Fly In" will showcase World War II vintage aircraft and armored vehicles used in 20th century conflicts.

COMMITTEE NEWS

The Programs and Awards Committee is seeking members for the 2000-2001 year. The committee will plan the Arts and Entertainment Luncheon in April and the "Excellence in Business" Awards Luncheon in May. Planning for these events should be a lot of fun! To join, come to the next meeting at noon on Wednesday, September 13, at the Chamber office. Interested in getting your business name on television?

The Communications Committee has received a commitment from Comcast that they are willing to broadcast a cable television show featuring Chamber members, events, award winners, and discussions of topics of interest to the business community. Plans are to tape the show monthly and air the program weekly on Comcast. This show will be a significant benefit to Chamber members. A subcommittee is currently forming to decide on the program's name, plan for designing the set, and organize the format and content of the show. BETTER YOUR BUSINESS

McGruff the crime watchdog says watch out for your business! A business watch program, similar to the neighborhood watch program, has formed in Prince William County. Crime prevention training on a variety of topics is offered monthly by police officers. The next topic, Shoplifting, will be held at the Manassas Mall on Friday, July 21st at 9 a.m.. THE CDL ACADEMY "2000" SUMMER JOB FAIR

Due to the large shortage of drivers in this region, the CDL Academy will be holding a job fair on Saturday July 22 at our location in Manassas. Twenty companies will be on site for experienced driver recruitment, including such companies as Interstate Van Lines and Paxton Van Lines.
