Tips on Writing Effective Press Releases
Knowing how to get your organization's information publicized can mean the difference between success or failure for many new businesses and organizations. To help you along, one tip on writing effective press releases will be included in the next several issues of What's Happening. For the complete list, visit the Chamber web site at www.pwcgmcc.org.
TIP #2 "Keep it short." Most press releases should be less than one page long. Information to be included in the "What's Happening" should be even shorter-1 paragraph to half a page. The "What's Happening" is designed to be a quick update on Chamber and member events, and methods of distribution require that the format be no longer than 2 pages. Include a contact name and number so readers can get more information. Don't forget to include your web site's address if your organization has one. Links to your web site will then be included in the web page version of the "What's Happening" newsletter on the Chamber's web site www.pwcgmcc.org.
