The Center for the Arts of Manassas and Prince William County kick's off its new series of Summer Sounds Concerts for 2000 on May 27 at 6:30 p.m. on the lawn of the Manassas Museum with a performance by "Ruthie and the Wranglers" (energetic fusion of country, rock and blues). On Wednesday, May 24, the Flory Small Business Development Center, Inc. will sponsor a workshop, "Writing a Successful Business Plan," from 7-10 p.m. in Manassas. Presented by Robert Amsler of F&M Bank-Northern Virginia, the workshop details information about how to develop the plan and use it in a loan/

The American Heart Association and Inova Health Systems have partnered to educate the public about stroke in Northern Virginia. There will be a press conference held Monday, May 15 at 1:15 p.m. at Fire Station #9 on the Route 1 Corridor in Mount Vernon, which will include the results of a community survey about stroke knowledge and the kick-off a public education campaign on stroke. Cradle to Crayons Child Development Center is now registering for the full day kindergarten program. This program is licensed and the children are learning math, reading, science, social studies and other fun subjects.
