In Appreciation of Our Gold Star Members
The Prince William County - Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce awards a "Gold Star" each month to the Chamber member who has gone "above and beyond" the call of duty in support of the Chamber and its mission. This coveted award is handed out at the monthly Chamber luncheon.

December, 2004 Gold Star Member
Roberta McEachern
Independence Empowerment Center

Roberta McEachern worked tirelessly to make this year’s Cuisine de Commerce the fabulous success it was. This member of the Community Relations Committee single-handedly called all member nonprofits and compiled the “Holiday Giving Wish List” that was inserted into the luncheon programs. And that is not all - she also donated time and energy before the event hauling everything needed for the luncheon into the banquet hall at Foxchase Manor, including soft drinks, trash cans, silverware, plates and cups; then helping to set it all up. During the event she helped to make sure the donated gifts arrived safely under the tree and made sure all vendors had everything they needed. If that was not enough, she worked tirelessly after the event to help clear the tables, haul trash and return the room to its original condition.

January, 2005 Gold Star Member
Marci Frye
Save-A-File Systems

Marci Frye is one of those unheralded people who has been working quietly “behind the scenes” on behalf of the annual Silent Auction. This year’s Silent Auction Luncheon was one of the most successful the Chamber has ever experienced and a lot of that success is due to Marci. With help from fellow committee member Mark Cooke of Capitol Financial Partners, she telephoned each and every member restaurant to obtain gift certificates. She also drove all around town to pick up donations and then worked tirelessly at the event itself as a runner, and she did it all with great grace and energy.

The contributions of extraordinary members like these ensure the success of the Chamber not just for themselves, but for all members. And that means that the Chamber has the means to work even harder to ensure the success of its members.
