Mission:
The Economic Development Committee of the Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce will help cultivate an economic and political climate conducive to business development and existing business growth.
 
Identify and define issues regarding local government plan review and permitting for private development.  Evaluate any impact on economic development and work in concert with other affected organizations to improve the process.
 
Enhance the annual Economic Update and Reception to more effectively demonstrate the Chamber's role in promoting business growth and to provide more direct benefit to attendees.
 
Strengthen the Chamber's relationship with the economic development arms of local governments to improve timely and meaninfgul communication.         
 
Continue holding meetings out in the community, but alternate them with regular business meetings at the Chamberoffice to enhance the contriubtions the committee can make to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors and to provide solid "take home" information to the active committee members.

Mission:

To promote pro-business policies at all levels of government

 
Prepare and recommend to the Chamber's Board of Directors for their consideration and approval the 2004 Legislative Agenda.
 
Prepare with the Prince William Regional Chamber, our Joint Legislative Priorities package for presentation to our General Assembly delegation.
 
Co-sponsor Legislative Kick Off and Legislative Wrap Up breakfasts with the Prince William Regional Chamber.
 
Participate as a member of the Northern Virginia Coalition of Chambers in a "visit your local legislators" trip to Richmond while the General Assembly is in session.
 
Develop a county legislative priorities package for the Prince William County Board of Supervisors.
 
 

Keep Chamber Board aware of pending legislation releveant to Chamber members on national, statewide and local levels.

 
Coordinate and monitor the attendance of Chamber Board of Directors at public meetings of all major jurisdictions within Prince William County, Manassas, Manassas Park and Haymarket.

Mission: 

Facilitate alliances between the business and educational communities through activities and events that are mutually beneficial.  

 

Foster communications and coordinate efforts among business leaders, school officials and education foundations through the "Missing Link" program.

 

Update and facilitate the intern/shadowing program and Speakers Bureau

 

Administer the scholarship funds generated by the Polar Bear Scramble Golf Tournament as well as contributions from other Chamber Members.

 

Participate with the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park and Prince William County in new teacher recruitment and orientation.

Help coordinate the Education Honor Roll presentation and explore additional ways to recognize contributing businesses.

 

Investigate the possibility of including, as a pilot program, support or partial sponsorship of a recognition program for at-risk readers in the City of Manassas, Manassas Park and Prince William County Elementary Schools.

Mission:

To build on the membership of over 900 members through innovative leadership and development programs and to continue to broaden their Chamber expertise on the many benefits of membership, thus enhancing their role as Ambassadors.

 

Expand outreach program to increase member participation at all levels.

 

Maintain retention rate of at least 85%.

 

Implement changes to the New Member Orientation Program to include more specific details on all the benefits of membership.

 

Conduct "Rookie Roundup" event to encourage new members to participate in programs, events and benefits.

 

Utilize existing events as recruiting opportunities.

 

Promote the Chamber's website as a new member acquistion tool.
